Joe Kerrigan
Solicitor

In 2010 Joe set up Kerrigan’s Family Law having previously been head of the largest family law department in the Midlands.
​
Joe is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel. He is an experienced and formidable advocate with a great reputation for representing both parents and children in care proceedings.
​
Joe has a particular expertise acting for mothers and fathers in complicated and difficult residence and contact disputes.
​
Joe is renowned for his easy manner with clients.
Roberta McDonald

Roberta has been practising in the law relating to children for over 40 years. She has a great reputation for representing both parents and children within care proceedings.

Matt Cannan
Solicitor
​
Matt is the newest addition to the team and joined McDonald Kerrigan having moved from Blair Allison when the firm closed down in 2018.
​
Matt is also a member of the Law Society's Children Panel and works closely with Guardian's in Birmingham, The Black Country and Solihull.
Matt's particular area of expertise is representing children in care proceedings and also with regard to contact disputes and is often appointed as 16.4 rule Guardian's in complex cases.
Niki Sailsman
Paralegal
Niki joined the team in 2015 and is now firmly established. She receives referrals from existing clients and other professionals.

Niki specialises in acting for parents in care proceedings with a particular emphasis on non-accidental injuries, mental health and personality disorders and substance abuse.
​
Niki also has a thriving practice in acting for parents in residence and contact disputes.
Gail Kerrigan
Legal Assistant

Gail is the Girl Friday of the team. Generally involved in the administration of the firm and being available when the other members of the team are at court.
Gail will often be drafted in to attend meetings with the Local Authority and sit behind counsel at court.
Cheryl Jarratt
Legal Assistant

Cheryl joined the team in 2022 and works alongside Matt as his Legal Assistant.
Cheryl has a vast amount of legal experience having worked in the law for a considerable amount of time. Cheryl is on hand to deal with any queries in relation to Matt's cases.
Carolyn Bird
Accounts Manager

Carolyn also joined the team in 2018 having managed the accounts department at Blair Allison. Carolyn is involved in all aspects of the firms accounting and has a wealth of experience in dealing with the back office functions of the firm.
